The Glover Report: Lucky Crosby Fired from Housing Authority of Baltimore City: Service for Sex Scandal Press Conference at Gilmor Homes Not Taken Well By City Hall

Lucky Crosby was fired Thursday night, some of us believe, from the Housing Authority of Baltimore City in retaliation for Wednesday's press conference at Gilmor Homes over allegations of service-for-sex scandal.

(BALTIMORE – October 23, 2015) - To hear that Lucky Crosby was fired tonight wasn’t that much a shocker when you figure all of the political implications as the next Baltimore primary election is six months away and that Gilmor Homes, the site of Wednesday’s press conference, is currently in the eye of international media ever since the “Freddie Gray” uprising which caused millions of dollars in damages.

To the uninitiated, Crosby has been a powerful voice for the voiceless as it relates to the terrorized tenants at public housing units like Gilmor Homes. Given that the world is watching, one would think the City of Baltimore would have done a better job trying to make life better for those people – not sweeping serious allegations under the rug as if they do not exist.

I pray that Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake is right when she said on television that she would “absolutely not” fire Housing Commissioner Paul Graziano. A woman told me tonight that Graziano should have been let go after his first public stunt in Fell’s Point.

All I know is there are people in the City of Baltimore who are barely making it, and so, to have somebody capitalize off of them as if they are prey is simply God-awful. Women having to endure this kind of treatment is criminal, many of us believe.

Lucky Crosby, a native son of Sandtown, has been saying this for a long time. He has brought to light the ills that exist within public housing, matters that should have been dealt with long before now.

If you want to see a hero, look at Lucky. Truth is, I am honored to know him. He is a community leader who has demonstrated more testicular fortitude than most. A lot of times, our leaders get a cushy position and forget all about the innate obligation every single one of us has to be a blessing to others. Quite often, we get soft. We no longer think we have to stand up for what is right.

Lucky stood up and I pray when it is all said and done, he and our city, including the residents of Gilmor Homes, McCulloh Homes and every other public housing complex in the city are restored.

I don’t mind adding that I do believe that a necessary change is coming. And that's why I personally like Sheila Dixon for Mayor of Baltimore. You know, one thing you can't fake to Baltimoreans: And that's love - the sharing and the caring. And Sheila has a lot of love for the people. All people.

Big ups, Lucky! May God continue to bless you!

No one should lose their job for doing the right thing. As for the upcoming elections, there is a gentleman who has a great love for people that is running for mayor...Mack Clifton. He is a champion for change in this city, and believes that the younger generation should be more involved in the political machine and that their voices should be heard. People are looking for new faces and fresh ideas. Check him out on Facebook.
